Want to be more involved with Lighthouse? Join us for our first Volunteer Animal Caretaker Orientation of the year! This hour-long orientation will get you acquainted with the sanctuary and what the expectations are for this volunteer position. Afterward, we will be scheduling training sessions for those interested.
MORE ABOUT THE POSITION: We are looking to grow our weekly volunteer staff to better serve the almost 300 animals that we care for. In this position, you will work closely with the animals - making sure their living areas are clean and safe and providing simple routine medical care (which you will be trained for) and general maintenance to ensure that the sanctuary is well maintained. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about how to care for animals. You must be motivated, able to work independently, able to lift 50+ pounds on an ongoing basis, and able to commit to 3-5 hours a week between Monday and Thursday on a consistent schedule. More detailed information will be presented at the orientation.
Lighthouse is an all-volunteer non-profit with no paid staff. We depend on volunteers to keep the sanctuary operating. Come join the largest and oldest sanctuary in the state and help us rescue more animals in need!
