A recent report by marketing research group IBIS World shows people have not stopped spending money on their pets despite tough economic times, with some markets actually growing during the recession.  Pet store revenue grew nearly 3 percent, and premium food and pharmaceutical sales have also increased over the past five years.  Additionally, the American Pet Products Association reported that even the “pampering” sector has grown, with revenue in pet hotels, daycare, sitting and grooming up nearly 8 percent in 2010.
