Celebrate Black (CAT) Friday by adopting a feline friend for just $10

(Nov. 25, 2013) – The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) in Sherwood, Ore., is celebrating Black Friday with $10 adoption fees for black/mostly black cats and kittens available for adoption at the Sherwood shelter location on Friday, Nov. 29.

Special adoption rates for black/mostly black felines continue through the weekend with $25 adoption fees for adults (age 1 year and older) and $50 adoption fees for kittens (under 1 year old) on Saturday, Nov. 20, and Sunday, Dec. 1.

“Felines with black coats typically stay at the shelter longer than cats of other colors,” says Karen Green, CAT’s executive director. “We hope that by celebrating black cats and kittens on Black Friday weekend, we can help them get into homes faster.”

All cats and kittens adopted from CAT are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and sent home with a certificate for a free veterinary exam from participating area clinics. On the day of adoption, adopters also receive a discount for use at the in-shelter retail store.

CAT is also offering 25 percent off all scratch posts and other scratchers all weekend, Nov. 29-Dec. 1. Adoption fees for all other adult cats are 50% off through the end of November. Event is being sponsored by OregonLive/The Oregonian.

CAT will be closed on Thanksgiving day. Regular hours for CAT are: Tuesday-Friday, noon-7pm; Saturday and Sunday, noon-6pm; closed Mondays. Adoptions end 30 minutes before closing. The shelter is located at 14175 SW Galbreath Drive, Sherwood, Ore. – it’s worth the drive.
